Signal Your Intention

More than 18% of the dead toll on Ethiopia’s roads was attributed to illegal changing of lanes or lane swerving. This is very often linked to not using the indicator and warning other drivers about the intended lane changes. Also, many non-fatal accidents can be avoided when indicators are used and other drivers can react accordingly. Signaling / using the indicator ALWAYS when you want to change your direction, protects YOU and OTHERS! It is not rocket science- and it can save lives!

How to manage it right

Indicate ALWAYS when you want to:

• Change lanes.
• Take a turn.
• Leave a roundabout.
• Push out of a parking slot.
• Take an exit.
• Make it a HABIT to ALWAYS use your indicator.
• It is a basic rule of road safety and good manners to signal where you intend to go to!.
• Protect YOU and OTHERS!.

Start indicating a few seconds before you actually move, to make others aware. Make it a routine to always use your indicator, even if nobody else is on the street. When you see somebody else indicating, be polite and caring and allow them to move.
